Update. Always update!

Normally, you don’t want the version control system you’re using to maintain your thesis programs to say segmentation fault every time you update, even if it’s a simple consequence of certain core libraries being updated when the computer was upgraded to Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Luckily they’re not all upgraded yet.

Wandering books

Think I’ll start doing this book sharing thingy. I can probably find some books I can do without.

Of all the computer rooms in all the universities in all the world, she walks into mine.

Spent the morning reading, saying adieu and doshing out cash on clothes and a nice black hat. I’d show you if I also had wasted money on a digital camera.

They sit around the monolith in anger, despair, hope, joy and grief. All but one statue. It’s the dead among the living that I noticed and remember, not the labyrinth or the monolith.

Does the bridge tell a story?

XMMS: It still sucks.

X Multimedia System is a fully misfeatured program with an awful UI, and no amount of skin is going to change that.

It’s Free, though.

Gluph.

Guh. Not getting anywhere on the thesis. Wasting time. Brain nonfunctional first four hours after getting out of bed. Etc. Nice weather earlier, though.

Beep goes the beacon. Cold is the night.

Was going to say something funny about getting a call from VG, but then I read the news.

2002-04-14 21.00 All is well.

Men irriterande likevel.

Question #1.

Why is he suddenly writing so many entries, after a week’s quiet?

Answer:

Because he has something better to do.

Mo’ money out! Mo’ geekness in!

Went to this warehouse and bought some stuff I needed, like new summer tyres for the bike and brake shoes for same. And some things I can pretend to need, like a toolbox and a sorting box. And, of course, a couple of things that I can claim, with complete and utter conviction, are Very Useful And Handy To Have, but which I have no need for just now, nor soon, like a magnet on a stick and a nifty little multimeter. Not expensive, either. If it was, I couldn’t have impulsed it, could I. 88 kr for a manual-range thing which goes beep and has these needle-probes you can poke people with. Low-budget geek thingy. And magnets on sticks. Telescope sticks. Concealed magnets, disguised as pens. Must have. Quick, pretend they’re useful. My precious!
