Waiting for the new year

I’ve quit my old job (spending my last vacation days now) and gone home to mom and dad. My teensy apartment in Oslo is searching for a new tenant, and in a week I’ll go north, north, north, a bit west to start my Ph.D.

Did I mention it’s good to have friends? It’s good to have friends. I wouldn’t have made it out of that apartment in time without a little help from my friends. A lot of help.

Tomorrow morning I’ll be off to ICPS, organised by IAPS. Week-and-a-half in Coimbra, Portugal. Sun, b33r, p0rt and h0tt physics b4b3s. I be looking forward to it. Now if I can just finish these things I should have done on Sunday, like the poster and the lecture I’ve promised to bring along. Wish I’d remembered the costume party earlier, because I sure don’t have time to come up with anything now. My running ideas are rather RF-specific.

February: Applied for International Space University grant to attend SSP in Canada this summer.
March: Offered admission provided approved for grant. Approved for grant. I da man!
April: Realized no fucking way will Master’s be finished in mid-June. Turned down grant.

I suck.
