If cut’n'paste and/or drag-and-drop just stops working on your Mac, delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist and relogin.

Windows on Mac

Installing Windows on Mac turned out to be a perfectly doable thing. There were three hurdles:

Diskutil reported minor errors on the system disk.

Boot from install CD, run Diskutil from pull-down menu.

Partitioning failed due to unmovable files.
