Wikipedia fund raiser. Bah.

Wikipedia is having another fundraiser. I’m not donating, and this is why.

We luvs the internets

Oh, and God is a ninja.

Eit par avisklipp

Eit par interessante overskrifter, courtesy of VG og Dagbladet. Eg synest spesielt Afghanistan-saken var smakfull.

Internet madness

No actual content, just a list of fun, addicting and/or insane games on the intarweb.

<Hoffa> Ekle Åsmund, legge ut linker til spill på nettet sånn helt uten videre.

And after tea, you have an appointment to destroy the Earth, sir.

Finally, somebody took the trouble to enumerate and rank the various methods for destroying the Earth.

(Hint: Tide har ikkje tenkt å fortelja deg at Lakrisbaatane seglar Halhjem-Sandvikvåg no.)

Google Transoceanic

I’m probably the fourth last in the world to notice this, but Google Maps has this quite nice routefinding system. It’s particularly interesting for transoceanic travels, as you can see below.

Travellin’ with Google

I just wish Google Maps would offer something more than just Mercator.

Hooray internets movies!

Okay, so this is clearly the most brilliant thing I’ve seen so far on Youtube.

Yankee land

So, I’ve been in Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (NY) since Tuesday, learning about computational and comparative genomics. It`s been very interesting. Lots of information-dense lectures and workshops about things I need or will need to work with when I return to Oslo. And the culture shock hasn’t been too bad. Food as expected: Sweet and greasy. But frequently good. Lecturers very good. And the other participants are an interesting bunch, plus the lab itself is a nice place. I have some pictures in my camera, that magical place they seem to never leave.

Knutdag

Ok, I’ll just omg Knutdag. It’s … amusing. I’ll read the lot when I’m not at a seminar supposed to be learning about web services.

Funny lisence plates.

Ok, so all planes have a registration number, right? Norwegian planes have LN-xxx, where xxx is a three-char code. For the enjoyment of all those of you corrupted by webcomics such as Little Gamers, the plane that brought me home for Christmas was licensed LN-FAP.
